Cosmic Wisdom: The Workings of the Human Mind and Your True Purpose

1. When you speak a sentence, your mind forms a way of feeling that corresponds to those words & that thought. Your mind becomes the result of the subject matter of your words.

2. When you make up your mind by your own opinion that you are going to change, you set a dial in your mind. Your mind begins to measure what you said you were going to do and what you are not doing to effect the change you selected. Once your mind has determined you are only giving a small percentage of yourself to the change, you lose balance and clarity. It leaves the mind inaccurate and insensitive, so that in a day to day world, you make bad decisions. You begin to do things you shouldn’t, and you act out of balance, and it’s balance that determines life. Once you make a promise to yourself, and don’t keep it, and you know better, you become out of balance.

3. Young children perceive in their parents what they should be, what they could be and are not. Children are able to unconsciously measure what a parent has inside and what they are not doing about it. They can measure the ratio to which their parents are involved in the surface world and their own inner development and realization of their potential.

4. When a sensitive person is not involved in the activities of their true purpose, they sometimes take on feeling responsibility for people and events in excess of what is necessary. This fills an area of the mind which is empty. When they become involved in the activities of their true purpose, this area becomes full, so that when they enter their personal life, these people are able to take on only a certain amount of responsibility for what is around them. They are already full of a sense of rightness, duty, balance, and emotional stability. All areas of emotional excess stem from not being involved in the activities of your true purpose. You are prey to excess, to every human emotion by not being where you belong.

5. You can always tell you are at the end of an old level because it feels as if it is the most difficult. Whenever you feel the most discouraged, remember you are at the end of an old level. It’s the hardest and most difficult. At that moment you feel like being the least disciplined because it’s hopeless. This is the time to hold on the most, because it’s the end of an old level, and that’s when it tests you the most. It’s always toughest when the past is ready to break away permanently.

6. Newness takes longer to experience than the past. By the time it reaches you, the past has already entered your mind.

7. It takes a lot of energy to live because we have the tendency of mind to fight it, resist it, and to some degree, there is a lack of skill to live it.

8. When people feel personally attacked or personally judged, there is an emotional flare-up. When a person becomes emotional, they lose their clarity and their intelligence.

9. The minute emotions get strong and you feel pressure or discomfort, it is because your pride was attacked. The percentage of discomfort you feel increases proportionately to the size of the ego involved.

10. If you concentrate on one area too much, too deeply, you lose sight of even the obvious in other areas.

11. Getting started with what is real requires pulling away from something less mature, less sophisticated, and something that is more familiar and totally of the past. It requires a pulling away from the past. And the way the past is constructed and the way the mind deals with it are interlocked, and they don’t want to let go of each other.

12. If one’s habit is to justify their own actions, then that mind stays in a distorted posture permanently and the justification process becomes the electrical circuitry of thought. Then, as a person tries to think their way to the future, to their own reality, they are thinking through their own distorted reality and cannot make the correct decisions to reach the future. A person’s justification process holds back their own power, effectiveness, and guidance to the future.

13. When your view of life has a wide range and you live within a larger picture, personal problems consume a smaller percentage of your being than if you spent most of your time focusing on your personal life. If 90% of your focus is on self, then as personal problems occur, they affect 90% of your being. If you are only 5% self-involved, your personal problems can only affect 5% of your being.

14. You must be disciplined not to be negatively affected by constructive criticism. Your mood cannot go up and down in response to other people’s comments. If your mood goes up and down while you are receiving constructive criticism, then your mind gets depressed or pressed down and you will only take in what you are being told to the degree you are open. If you are disappointed in what you are hearing, that means the opening is smaller. So you need to be disciplined to remain steady when hearing about yourself.

15. When you think in familiar ways using the same patterns of thought, that circuitry of thought keeps you in the same position of mind and you can’t go any further. The brain is a lifetime of recordings, and when start a familiar way of thinking, feeling, or speaking, a segment of your mind locks in, and the actual electrical circuitry of thought goes around in the cellular material of mid on the same track. The subject matter can change, but the patter of thinking remains the same.
The mind comfortably settles into patterns of electrical thought and memory, and you get locked in and you can’t get out. By being different—feeling and communicating differently—by giving life to what is coming up between you and another person, you stop the mind from locking into a particular area of cellular material which is familiar. You go into the depths of your mind. You will not be blocked by a thought process which is habitual.
What you are looking for is right underneath the familiar circuitry of the mind. Every time you stop the familiar, you short-circuit the mind and the established patterns of thought, and gain access to the deeper recesses of your mind.

16. Depressed states, which are reproduced patterns of the past and not based on the current reality, can be dismissed.
